The April update
Join us as we keep you in the loop with how we are strengthening, empowering and protecting children in need.
Empowering education
Our team provides education and a nutritious meal twice weekly to children living in seven different slum communities. The children are eager to learn and we've seen a noted increase in the amount of children attending formal schooling since our work began here!
Family reunifications
We love to see children reunited with safe families. In this past few months we have celebrated three children returning to the care of a family member!
Our team is working with the local Child Protection Authorities to reunite children with family members, when it is in their best interests!
Quiz competition success
Over a period of five months some of the children we work with attended general knowledge classes. They gained a lot of understanding of the world they live in and learnt about iconic Indians that have used their knowledge to make a difference.
These classes ended in a Quiz Competition and we are proud to say the Free to Be participants won!
Creative expression
Not only do the children we work with get a chance to develop their minds, but also their creativity. The children particularly enjoy the freedom and fun that comes from participating in dance classes!
Holiday fun
We appreciate the generosity of our partners that enable us to provide great levels of care & support and also opportunities to go to new places and enjoy the beauty around us from time to time!
Team development
Carers, teachers, cooks, social workers and community staff are just a few of the roles our team members carry! To keep our team focussed and equipped for the task of working with children in need, we spend regular time together to build each other up and be empowered!
