The July update

Join us as we keep you in the loop with how we are strengthening, empowering and protecting children in need.

We are excited to share with you some of the things that have been happening this year. We also were very happy to get to connect with a lot of you recently when our Director Jeanette Thompson was in Australia during her fundraising visit. We want to again say THANK YOU for your faithful giving and support, it really is making a difference!

Vision becoming reality

For the past years we have been working towards the point of seeing more children reunited with their families, as their situation allows for this in their best interest. This year we have seen another three children reunited with their families, two with their Aunty and one girl with her mother. As their reintegrations happen we have kept in regular contact receiving feedback about how they are settling in. We are happy to see children safe with their immediate, or extended family, and in a position where they are able to look forward into the future as a family unit.

Education support

We're thankful to you our supporters who made it possible for us to support the educational efforts of families in our community by providing education packs of books and stationery. Our program was well supported by three key Community Leaders and many people from the wider community. The highlight of the day was ending with a Community Concert where there was great participation from people of different ages.

Transition home

As a number of children are reaching the age of Transition from Children into young Adults it is necessary that a bridging safe place be available for them before they are ready to stand on their own two feet in the greater community. Over the next few months as we set up this Home and settle a number of young adults there they will take the next steps towards independence in their future. In this environment they will learn to be more responsible for their own decisions, preparing meals and maintaining their daily life routine. The best part of this is they will be neighbours to our Girl's Home and still in regular connection with our team!

Supporter visits

We enjoyed visits from a number of supporters who contributed their skills of teaching and training to provide excellent programs focussed on building resilience and strength and training leaders in our team and in the Community. More than anything we appreciated the chance to have fun together and build more purposeful relationships.
